Howard Stern on Idol?

Howard Stern on Idol? ENTERTAINMENT

Could Howard stern be replacing Simon Cowell on American Idol in 2011? On Howard Stern’s Sirius radio show Monday, the “shock jock” didn’t confirm nor deny the rumor that he could be taking Simon Cowell’s seat as the next brutally honest judge on Americas favorite reality show. Howard Stern did seem interested in the idea of making between $50 and $100 million dollars a year. Some say that this is a ploy to start negotiations with Sirius satellite radio because his contract is ending with Sirius in January of 2011. Nonetheless, there are mixed emotions of idea that the crude radio personality would be in the living rooms of America’s families since Stern has always targeted the 18-25 year old demographic as his core audience in radio. Stern on his radio show Monday also joked about his producer Gary Dell’Abate delivering pizzas and co-host Robin quivers doing drugs and having orgies in her apartment in his move to American Idol leaving his staff jobless. Some say the move to Idol will never happen because Stern has always liked doing things his way and calling the shots, but with $50+ million potentially on the table it would be tough to see him turn it down with the timing and all. Howard Stern has also expressed his interest in the lax schedule he’d have if he were to become a judge working only about 4 months a year opposed to a 4 day work week starting at 4am with vacations about every 2 months.
